Standon Calling 2012 // Journey To The Ends Of The Earth
April 25th, 2012
So you want to travel to the ends of the earth and back hey? But don’t fancy doing it living on baked beans and gravel? Well help is at hand dear wishful adventurer! The theme for this years Standon Calling Festival is Journey to the ends of the earth and it’s basically going to be bloody awesome.
Experience all the things you could ever wish for without the jet lag, in a field near Bishops Stortford.
On the weekend of 3-5 August 2012 a quiet manor becomes the venue for Britain’s best kept festival secret, this means another incredible site layout with hidden stages, parties till 6am in a converted cowshed and the now surely infamous swimming pool (the only festival in the UK to have one fact fans). Add to that the best line-up this side of the apocalypse and it’s an absolute no-brainer, for just 99 of your earth pounds you get all of the following:
Death In Vegas, Beardyman, Fat Freddy’s Drop, !!!, Crazy P, Willy Mason, Casio Kids, Field Music, Turbowolf and Dub Pistols, plus an epic cast of the greatest musicians to soundtrack your travels across the lands.
Fancy dress isn’t compulsory, but it’s wholeheartedly encouraged, if it’s the end of the world you’re looking for then why not dress-up as something utterly ridiculous like a sea monster, a rambling hitch hiker or an intergalactic superhero! The opportunities are literally endless, STANDON CALLING 2012 have some cracking ideas for those searching for a little costume inspiration.
